We shall once again be celebrating the Christmas message at the Village Hall on Saturday 14th December.
It is a tradition that started during the pandemic when indoor meetings were not possible but has been popular enough for it to have become a regular village event. Over the years, several hundred pounds have been raised for a variety of charities, thanks to the generosity of villagers, these range from the Heartbeat Trust, Air Ambulance, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Care to Mountain Rescue. This year the band have selected a mental health charity – MIND. As well as the carol singing, mince pies and mulled wine will be served. We will cover the cost of running the event with a collection and all surplus funds will go this year to the selected charity. The hall will be open from 1.30 p.m. and we would appreciate some help to set out a few chairs and organise the kitchen. Singing to start at 2.00 p.m. Incidentally, the band welcomes new members of all ability, we have an eclectic mix of instruments and enjoy making music together with the occasional community event. If you have instrument and would like to share in the experience, you will be very welcome! With Season’s Greetings from the Brigsteer Village Band.
