Brigsteer WI extends a warm invitation to all the village on the occasion of our 70th year anniversary celebration.
The party will be held in Brigsteer Village Hall on Wednesday 10th January at 7pm . There will be a display of memorabilia, music from the period and a finger buffet provided by our members and a glass of fizz to add an extra sparkle to the celebration. At 7.30pm Dr Jean Turnbull of Kendal Historical Society will present a talk , " On the home front - life in the Lyth Valley " Karen Hanks, trustee of the WI Federation will be presenting a 70year certificate. WI members will be wearing jolly, exotic earrings as a tribute to Margaret Wrigley who you'll recall loved wearing flamboyant earrings. Please feel free to join in and sport your own variety. Huge thanks to all those who came along and enjoyed an eclectic mix of Christmas music, mulled wine, mince pies and good company. I am delighted to report that thanks to your generosity we have raised... £300:00 for the Air Ambulance Hope you all have a stress free Christmas and a healthy New Year. Best wishes Mick Brookes (On behalf of the 'Brigsteer Band' and 'Untethered') The Tea Shop will be open again next Tuesday, December 19th, in the Village Hall from 2.00 to 4.00 pm. In addition to the usual tea, coffee, homemade cakes and mince pies there will be even more mulled wine, and the Brigsteer Band will provide background music (so a bit like the Palm Court really).
All welcome Come and join us at the Village Hall on Friday 22nd December for an evening of fun, music, mince pies and mulled wine. There will be two bands playing all your favourite Christmas tunes
