Dear Parishioners,
The Annual Parish Meeting will be held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 3rd April commencing at 8pm. This will follow the Ordinary Parish Council Meeting. As always, you are welcome to both meetings but particularly the Annual Parish Meeting commencing at 8pm where my short Annual Report will be followed by a presentation on Fraud Prevention by Claire Keys from the Economic Crime Unit of Cumbria Police.The main theme of Claire’s presentation will be Keeping Safe on the telephone,online and on your doorstep. The meeting will close with Public Participation for Electors to bring forward any issues followed by a glass of wine( or juice) nibbles. The Councillors look forward to seeing you. Brigsteer WI Invites you to the March open meeting on Wednesday 13th March in the Village Hall.
Andy Clifford will be talking about his work with ‘Fix the Fells’, an organisation of rangers and volunteers who protect our spectacular Lakeland fells from erosion by repairing and maintaining the footpaths. Andy hopes to encourage discussion so come along with your questions and comments. The open meeting starts at 8pm. Entrance for guests is £3 which includes tea and cake. As usual donations of non-perishable foodstuffs for the Kings Food Bank in Kendal are welcome. Lastly, a reminder that the WI are organising a vintage afternoon tea party on Saturday 16th March from 2 - 4.30 where the village archives will be on display. This event is in aid of the Village Hall solar panels fund. |
