Carols around the Village Hall Christmas Tree – Saturday 17th December

28/11/2022

Picture
It doesn’t seem to take many years for a novel event, designed around the Covid-19 emergency to become a tradition!
Once again, this year, the Brigsteer Village Band will be playing Christmas music on Saturday 17th December in front of Helsington & Brigsteer Village hall with community carol singing from 1.30 p.m.
'The Band will be playing Christmas music including a selection of your favourite carols to sing along to.
As well as the carol singing, mince pies and mulled wine (or a non-alcoholic drink) will be served. We will cover the cost of this with a collection and all surplus funds will go this year to the Community Heartbeat Trust (Brigsteer Account), which funds the ongoing cost of the defibrillator in the village and the Brigsteer emergency telephone system.
The event will be outdoors, unless the weather is atrocious when we will be able this year to move into the Village Hall where another Christmas Tree will be lit.
Once again, a big thank you for the generous donation of the Christmas trees, the one on the green outside the hall to be decorated by you, the community. It should arrive early in December.
With Season’s Greetings from the Brigsteer Village Band

New Hall charges for 2023

1/11/2022

In the face of rising costs the Hall Trustees have reluctantly decided to raise the Hall hire charges for 2023.  This is only the second rise in twelve years.  Whilst the weekday bookings are looking really good and our particular thanks to our regulars who provide such a variety of activities for the local community, weekend bookings are down post Covid and this, alongside increasing running costs, means the Hall is currently running at a small deficit.

From 2023 the locals' or weekday activities rate will rise by just £1 to £8 per hour. The standard rate of hire will increase to £16 per hour. To encourage more weekend use the weekend charges are being held at the current rates for now.  New Charges

The aim of the Committee is always to provide a great venue for the local community and value for money to all users. They will continue to hold prices down as best they can.  Please support us by minimising the use of electricity etc wherever possible.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
