The Brigsteer Band invites villagers and friends to drop into the Village Hall for an informal evening of musical entertainment and conversation. The band will be playing an eclectic mix of musical styles ranging from jazz, through popular music to light orchestral pieces. There is no charge, but a retiring collection will be held to assist with the cost of running the event. A suggested donation of £2 a head would be appreciated. Feel free to bring your own refreshments. It will help arrange the hall if we have an indication of your support prior to the event by dropping an email to [email protected] This sees the return of Rowan Mcabe who entertained us as the Door-to-door poet a couple of years ago. This is a collection of new material that lifts the lid on some of the most funny and challenging moments of his unconventional career path.
Table Tennis sessions will resume in the hall from Tuesday 29th September, weekly through to 15th December, 7.00 to 9.00pm
Cost per session £2.50 or an upfront single discounted payment of £25 (cash only pls). Bargain. We are a non-competitive social group, all equipment provided and all ages & abilities are very welcome. Numbers were tailing off last spring so just in case you need a little encouragement here’s a quote from the internet (so it must be true ) : “Often dubbed "the world's best brain sport", table tennis combines aerobic exercise with high-speed decision-making, hand-eye coordination, and complex spatial tracking.” It’s very much a case of the more the merrier so although it’s not always easy to get off the sofa & head outside on those dark autumnal evenings, you are almost guaranteed to feel better for doing so. Hope you can make it. Any questions to 07849 916167 TT team |
